Marshfield (OnFocus) – Great performances from area athletes deserve to be celebrated. Check out some of the top performers for this past week, and be sure to vote for the top performer!
Athlete of the Week Nominees, Week of October 18 – October 24
- Eden Jacobson, Spencer/Columbus Football – Jacobson has excelled all season long, and in S/C’s 32-21 comeback win over Weyauwega-Fremont, Jacobson rushed 25 times for 208 yards and three touchdowns.
- Michael Dul, Mosinee Football – Dul had a night to remember in Mosinee’s 47-0 win over Merrill. Dul completed 22 of 31 passes for 403 yards and 5 touchdowns, and rushed for another.
- Cooper Bredlau, Greenwood Football – The senior quarterback ran 27 times for 232 yards and two touchdowns, and threw for another as Greenwood destroyed McDonell Central, 48-6.
- Brycen Cashin, Pacelli Football – The state’s leading rusher took charge in Pacelli’s 55-22 win over previously unbeaten Assumption. The workhorse running back rushed for 240 yards and had 4 touchdowns. Cashin leads the state with 18 touchdowns and has rushed for 1373 yards, nearly 200 yards more than the next leading rusher.
- WI State Boys and Girls Cross Country Runners – This is a first for nominees, an entire contingent of cross country runners from Saturday’s State Meet. With the Division 1,2, and 3 races at Arrowhead High School, Colby High School, and Maple Grove Venues in West Salem, it was a challenge that racers and event officials had never encountered. With chilly conditions and strong winds much of the day, cross country racers endured and prospered to conclude an amazingly successful season.
