Marshfield – Central Wisconsin is filled with athletes and teams who are excelling and standing out above the rest.

Team of the Week Nominees, November 22 – November 28

  • Loyal Girls Basketball – Loyal began the season with a convincing 61-40 win over Spencer. Three Greyhounds had three players in double figures. Paige Smith had 17 points, Katlyn Lindner 14 points, and Savannah Schley 13 points.
  • Mosinee Girls Basketball – Mosinee opened the season with a 55-48 win over DC Everest.  Mosinee had three players in double figures, led by Claire Selenske with 13 points. Adalyn Lehman had 12 points, with Alexis Frieboth adding 11 points.
  • Stratford Girls Basketball Stratford opened the season with a 61-27 drubbing of Marawood rival Newman Catholic. Three Tigers were in double figures for Stratford, led by Emily Hughes with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Gracie Hauke had 13 points and Lauren Kraus added 12 points for the Tigers.
  • Jessie Grundhoffer, Assumption Girls Basketball – In Assumption’s opening night win at Edgar, Grundhoffer was a force for the Royals, dropping in 17 of Assumption’s 40 points and collecting 9 rebounds.
  • Pittsville Girls Basketball – The Pittsville Girls opened the season with a 61-45 win over New Lisbon. Julia Redmond led the Panthers with 20 points and 4 steals, and Bekah Downs had 12 rebounds in the win.
