Lacrosse Central Preview: Head Coach Todd Fergot

Keys to the Regular Season

We just tried to get better each and every day whether it was practice or a game.  Our guys have bought into their individual roles and have continued to work to be the best they could be and they growth they have shown as individuals and more importantly as a team have been key to the progress we have made this season.
Keys to the Tournament
We have just continued to do what we have done in the regular season and tried to carry that over into the tournament.  The guys have had a heightened focus  as the season has progressed and just continue to try to improve each day.  They are really a great group of young men who really just want to win…individual points, awards, etc….really don’t matter to our guys.
Medford Preview: Head Coach Ryan Brown
  • What have been the keys to your success in the regular season?
    • If I am speaking based on MY opinion, then it is two things: 1) God and 2) great kids.  Based on my own personal faith, God is the one who gets the glory in everything and He has placed me in a great school district and blessed me with amazing student athletes who I get to coach daily.  This year’s group of kids has sacrificed for many years to get to this point.  They all play multiple sports, yet they have dedicated themselves to basketball in the season and the off season.  They are high character kids who come to practice daily ready to get better, be coached hard, and do whatever it takes for the team to have success. We have had a foundation laid down by teams in the past of what it takes to have success and what it means to be RELENTLESS on the floor, but I think last year’s team and this year’s team have had amazing leadership with the seniors and best players on the team.  You need your best players to be great leaders and when they are and they treat everyone on the team with respect and like they are important, everyone thrives.
  • What have been the keys to your success in earning a regional title?
    • In general, the same things that made us successful in the regular season have helped us earn a regional title.  To add to that though, I think our guys have committed to Doing What We Do at the highest level they can.  Their focus and intensity in practice and in the games during the playoffs has been second to none.  They know what they want to accomplish as a team and that it will take all 15 guys on the roster to achieve victory.   They are at point where they are just ready to leave everything on the floor AND as Jack Bennett says, Give It Your Best and Live With It!”

New London Preview: Head Coach Zach Molner

Keys to our success in the regular season.
– We are a tight knit group. Our motto is Better Together and they have truly lived that.
– Sharing the basketball. We were very balanced.
– 3pt shooting
– Our run and jump press was very effective.
Keys to earning a regional title
– Kyle Wisniewski. He has took it to another level. Has that senior mentality of not wanting his basketball career to end. He averaged 29pts per game in the regional
– 3pt shooting. We shot 14-26 in the regional final. Finished at 43% total 3pt % for the regionl
– Our guard has been really really good.
– Our run and jump press was effective in both games.

Marathon Preview: Head Coach Adam Jacobson

I think we have been fairly consistent throughout the year, continuing to get better day by day. Our guys really make the extra pass well offensively. I think our defense has steadily improved throughout the season. I like how we run the floor. Rebounding has been huge for us all season long.
I think we have been playing with great confidence and composure. Fortunately throughout our season we have been able to play against really quality teams night in and night out. Playing in some really big games, in big environments, against really talented teams. I think that has prepared us well for the tournament. I think our kids have great team leadership and genuinely care for each other. They are a very close knit team.

Auburndale Preview: Head Coach Chat Weinfurter

We really have done a nice job of sharing the ball on offense.  We do not usually turn the ball over a lot and have done a good job of getting the shots we want.  We were not a very good rebounding or defensive team to start the season.  Those two areas have gotten better and we continue to work on them.

Throughout the season we have had a balanced scoring attack. In the regional final we had two guys score most of our points.  Caden Weinfurter and Mason White Eagle combined for 46 of our 64 points.  That’s unusual for us, but those two really picked up their teammates.  They shot combined 16/20 from the field and 8/9 from the FT line.

Newman Head Coach Jeff Waldvogel

In our regular season, our key to success was a strong senior team with several leaders, always supporting and pushing one another to get better in practice and in games.
Our keys to success were not only the senior leaders but also the team’s togetherness and their drive to play in the state tournament.  They play each game with determination, knowing it could be their last high school game together.
Pacelli Head Coach John Schurk

What have been the keys to your success in earning a regional title?
