OnFocus Cadott Hornets Softball Season Preview

Coaching Staff- Head Coach Kari Moldrem

Assistant Coach-Britteny Janish
Team Strengths- We have 5 seniors that are great leaders and have experience with success.  I have depth in the pitching rotation that has more experience pitching than I have ever had before.
You are entering your _15___ year as the head coach at the school and this is your __16__ year as a
head coach overall.

What are some of the top returning letterwinners from a year ago (please include post-season honors,
stats, etc. as well was expected roles for this season)?
I have 5 seniors Elly Eiler, Eva Enestvedt, Lauryn Goettl, Morgan Moldrem, and Laken Ryan, this
year that have been key to Cadott success in every sport.  The make coaching fun and will continue
to set the bar high for working hard while winning and having fun.

Lauryn Goettl- 1st  team All-Conference. Lauryn will being splitting her time between the pitching
mound and short stop.  She is a huge offensive threat who loves getting on base anyway she can.

Elly Eiler, and Eva Enestvedt will still be covering the outfield.  Morgan Moldrem is returning to
continue her role at second base.  Laken will still be behind the plate being an outstanding catcher.
Kasey and Rilei weeks will also be continuing their roles.  Rilei will play 3rd and short when Lauryn
pitches. Kasey will split her time between pitching and firstbase.

What new athletes are expected to make an impact on the team this season (please also include
attributes)?  Kennedy Nerdrum and Lexi Bremness come into this season will the most playing
experience from playing summer and travel ball.  Both are pitchers who have been putting in time to
improve.  All the freshman have been very eager to learn and improve so far this season.

What some key losses from last year’s team?
Senior Makenna Barone 2X(First Team Western Cloverbelt All-Conference, First Team All-District,
and Honorable Mention All-State)  Makenna also lead the team in batting average and was key to
Cadott softball success during her time playing or me.  Olivia Goodman- 2X Western Cloverbelt
Honorable Mention.   Olivia covered so much ground in the outfield with her speed.

How do you see your team doing this season? To improve, we were regional champs
for the first time in 38 years.  We can’t be satisfied with staying the same the same
level we were last year.  Last year we made it  passed Regionals, now let’s make it
past Sectionals.

What are your thoughts on the conference race and how do you see your team fit into the picture?

I see Cadott competing for the top of the conference.  We had a good season last year, but I think we
can to do better.
