OnFocus Merrill Bluejays Boys and Girls Track Season Preview
Girls Side, some key returners this year are:
Senior Madi Crossman and Senior Olivia Troyer, both were state qualifiers last year, Madi in the 200m dash and 4x400m relay, and Olivia in the 4x400m relay.
Strengths: We have most of our strong varsity competitors returning from last year. We also have a great group of newcomers, both first time track athletes, along with a strong group of freshmen. I’m really excited to see what this group of girls can do.
Conference outlook: We are going to be strong competitors in conference this year. We have a solid core group of veteran girls and underclassmen that are hungry and willing to step up.
Boys side, key returners:
Senior Brian Ball was one of our top sprinters returning from last year. He’ll look to build off the great season he had last year.
Strengths: We have a great group of young competitors.
Conference: We have a boys team that has a lot of heart, they’re going to compete and give everything they have each meet. We’ll have some event areas where we’re looking to take home some hardware.
