OnFocus Neillsville Warriors Girls and Boys Track Season Preview

Key Returners:

Boys – Ashten Schultz, Landon Kummer, Braylon Boyer, Brody Bergemann
Girls – Kaylee Lawrence, Kayleigh Kubisiak, Ava Miller, Emma Moen
Strengths:  Our boys’ team looks to be strong in the hurdles and jumps this year.  We also have solid depth that should allow us to be competitive in the sprint relays.
The girls’ team does not stand out in any one particular area, but long jump and triple jump look to be solid for us.  We should also field some very competitive sprint relays.
Conference Outlook for the Eastern Cloverbelt:
Boys:  We are the two time defending champion, but we lost several tremendous seniors off of last year’s team, so there are some big shoes to fill.  With that said, we might still be the team to beat due to our combination of depth and ability across the majority of events.  Owen-Withee, Colby, and Spencer all have solid rosters and will likely be the teams competing with us at the top.
Girls:  Colby and Loyal are head and shoulders above the rest of the competition.  For everyone else it’s a quest for 3rd place, and that is where we expect to be at the end of the season.  Colby has a huge advantage in the distance events that led them to the title last year, while Loyal has the advantage in sprints and probably overall depth this year.  It should be a very close competition this year.
Coaching Staff:
Adam Luchterhand – Head Coach and horizontal jumps
Mark Brommer – Pole Vault and relays
Brian Waters – Throws
Kat Luchterhand – High Jump and Hurdles
Duane King – Head middle school
Paul Ziebell – assistant with middle school and high school throws
Melissa Strangfeld – assistant with middle school and high school sprints.
