OnFocus Rhinelander Hodags Baseball Season Preview

• Key returners this season: Sam Schneider Sr. Catcher,  Max Ratty, Jr. Pitcher/IF, AJ Turek Sr. CF,  Owen Kurtz Jr. LF, Cody Everson Sr. 2B, James Heck Jr, P/3B

• Strengths of your team: We think our strength will be our offensive line up.  We feel we have the ability to score runs in all parts of our line up. Defensively, we appear to be stable up the middle of the field from our catcher, to Shortstop and 2nd baseman and out to our Centerfielder.  The rest of our defense is working hard to improve and are quickly catching up to our best defenders.
• Conference outlook: Our conference is extremely top heavy with Mosinee and Medford being 2 of the top teams in the state.  After that, the final 5 teams in the conference can finish in any particular order depending on injuries and other factors.  The weather we are experiencing this spring will really affect the conference outlook for all of our teams.  There can easily be situations where one team has to make up games in a week when other teams will be playing their rotations as normal.  The pitching depth for all of the teams will tell the tale of the conference season.
