OnFocus Season Preview: Antigo Red Robins Track and Field

Coaching staff: Carla Wissbroecker, Nick Schremp, Jessica Brandt and Dontae Mohr

Key returners: Lillian L’Esperance long distance Rutger Busse Distance, Jack Strongstad

Key newcomers: Rebuilding this year. Eleanor Tassler Freshman LongJump, Johanan Taylor thrower, Lots of new freshman.

Conference outlook: We are rebuilding and have a very smal team compared to other years. We lost 23 seniors this past year.

Keys to your success this season: teaching them technique and proper drills. Giving them the tools to be successful and have the proper mindset.

Coach’s comments: anything else you’d like to share? We lost a huge successful senior class last year. We need to make sure that the kids coming in know that it will take time to fill those shoes and not to set their exceptations too high. Looking at the record board should be a motivator not a set back. We have some of our kids competing at the coolege level and they are doing very well and its hard for some of our younger athletes to understand that it took hard work and time. My little long jumper tries to compare herself to Kenzie and I told her you are you and kenzie is Kenzie. She looks up to Kenzie and that is great.
