OnFocus Season Preview: Marathon Raiders Boys Golf

Conference outlook:

Prentice will be the frontrunner returning a conference champ and state qualifier with three sophomores and two freshmen from last year.  They will only get stronger. Newman has a true number one golfer who will only be a sophomore, and good experience and depth. We will have one of our deeper teams, and good experience in Blake Kraft. It will come down to if our talent and depth can gain experience. Assumption has a good program that produces good golfers. They are like us and have to replace three key seniors to chase down the other two.

Keys to your success this season:

Our key is to play with confidence in every round during the season, and shake off bad holes and bad rounds. We have a talented and deep roster, so our success will feature a lot of different golfers. If we can trust the process to improve and handle adversity, we will have a successful season. Our team has high goals as always, and knows that our challenging conference schedule will help us play our best golf at the right times.

Coach’s comments: anything else you’d like to share?

Marathon has twenty eight golfers out this year. Our goal is to play a lot of those golfers in competitive situations to see where we shake out in the playoffs. We have a great group of kids with great attitudes that want to improve every day.
