OnFocus Season Preview: Marshfield Tigers Girls Soccer
Coaching staff: Head coach Kelly Ongna and assistant Jeff Molter with goalie coach Hannah Hellesen.
Key returners: Payton Bremer (2-time first time all conference goalkeeper), Lauryn Katzenberger (second team all-conference midfielder), Hadlee Hall (midfielder), Mia Preston (defender), Keira Raab (midfielder), Kassidy Christopher (midfielder), Kailyn Kurth (defender), Claire Malone (forward/midfielder), Shiloh Smith (midfielder), and Lauren Homolka (forward).
Key newcomers: Natalie Hebbring, Emmalynn Clements, Alexis Hoffmann, Grace Will, Audrey Luedtke, Gabby Niehaus, Reese Miller, Blair Bennington, and Alaina Johannessen.
Conference outlook: The Wisconsin Valley Conference is always a competitive conference which any team could win on any given night. We look to be in the top third of the conference this season.
Keys to your success this season: Being able to control the game by having a good first touch and creating the spacing and support for one another will be the key to success this season. We have several returning players who have several years of varsity experience which will be good leaders on and off the field to our newcomers.
Coach’s comments: anything else you’d like to share?
I have been overly impressed with the time the players have put in on the off season and their ability to be flexible during the spring weather setbacks. Although we did lose seven starters from last season, I am confident that our senior leadership and newcomers will put in the time to execute a great game of soccer and will in return amount to a successful season for our team.
