Conference outlook:
The top teams from last year should look to maintain their dominance. There should be some movement in the middle/bottom of the conference standings. Our team will look to remain competitive against the top teams and work to secure multiple wins against the remaining teams.
Keys to your success this season:
Speed across all zones on the ice. Offensive creativity and pressure will create scoring chances, resulting in less time spent in our defensive zone. Maintaining good defensive zone coverage will prevent shots on our net and aid in better breakouts. Our defensive pairings will need to learn and adjust quickly. Getting the young guys up to the speed of varsity hockey and gaining confidence with the puck will lead to increased productivity across the team. Hard work, effort, and attitude will dictate the play style.
Coach’s comments: anything else you’d like to share?
We have a very young team this year with a large freshman class. With still low roster numbers, each player on the team will be leaned on during the season. We will be looking for our veteran and new players to step up and lead the team. We are trying to build a program and continue to get better, showing improvement throughout the season.
