OnFocus Season Preview: Merrill Bluejays Boys Soccer

Coaching staff: Casey Burmeister, Head Coach & Mason Gebert, Assistant Coach

Key returners: Sebastian Trevino, Tyler Spade, James Crockford, and Vincent Keenan

Key newcomers:

Conference outlook: The team graduated many key players including their top defender and goalkeeper in 2023. The current team is young but eager to prove they can compete in their final season in the Wisconsin Valley Conference before moving to the Great Northern Conference for the 2025 season. The schedule includes non-conference play against many regional opponents which will help the team gauge where they will fall once Division III playoffs are ranked.

Keys to your success this season:

This year will be tough given we are still in the Wisconsin Valley Conference and do have a young team as well as new staff. My main goal is for the boys to work hard and improve their skill level together as a team and as individuals. If they do this and enjoy playing this amazing sport, we’ll have a successful year and hopefully some wins to go along with it. We are very excited to get started.
