OnFocus Season Preview: Wausau East Lumberjacks Baseball

Conference outlook:

Every team in the Wisconsin Valley has strong players. This year, matchups and clean baseball will prevail in the conference. Hopefully the weather cooperates and we can get outside soon!

Keys to your success this season:

We are leaning on our experience from our seniors to lead this team. Many of them are entering their 3rd year on varsity and their strengths are defense and hitting. We are returning 46% of innings pitched from last year and our core defense is in place to compete every game.
Coach’s comments: anything else you’d like to share?
We have an outstanding group of seniors that are multi sport athletes and have experience competing.  Davis Winter is a two-time 2nd team all conference player and will be playing next year at the University of Northwestern St Paul.  Zach Pagel is a top 3B in the conference and middle of the lineup hitter.  Ryan Rodemeier is a dynamic catcher that will hit at the top of the order. Jed Vander Sanden is a very steady and reliable leader at first base.  Iain Stahel is an exciting player that can change the game on offense or defense. Sr Bodee Beversdorf only committed one error last season at 2B and had several clutch hits to lead last year’s team to a school record 17 win season.
