OnFocus Team of the Week, February 27 to March 5
- Medford/Colby Gymnastics – Led by Kate Malchow and Kyla Krause, the Medford/Colby Gymnasts took 7th at the WIAA Division 2 State Gymnastics Meet on Friday. Malchow finished 21st and Krause 22nd in the All-Around Malchow was 9th on the bars, 14th on the vault and 23rd on the balance beam. Krause finished 9th on the vault and 25th on the bars.
- Assumption Girls Basketball – Assumption punched its ticket to state with a 40-26 win over Wabeno-Laona Saturday afternoon at D.C. Everest. The Royals will play in the state semifinals Friday morning.
- Spencer Boys Basketball – The Rockets enterered the basketball playoffs as a #11 seed, but proved to be a tough out ready for upsets. The Rockets opened the playoffs with a 58-46 win over #4 Almond-Bancroft and then thumped #5 Port Edwards 70-49 in the regional semifinals before falling to Newman Catholic in a regional final Saturday night.
- Central Wisconsin Storm Girls Hockey – Storm came away with a state title on Saturday after downing Middleton 5-0 in the championship game. The Storm downed Middleton on Friday 4-1 and wowed the state with an impressive two game performance at the state championships.
- Neillsville Girls Basketball – Neillsville trailed 31-18 at the half to #1 seed Phillips before turning up the defensive pressure in the second half. Defensive adjustments at halftime enabled the Warriors to outscore the Loggers 30-11 and earn their ticket to State with a 48-42 win. Neillsville plays Thursday evening, time to be determined.
