Marshfield (OnFocus) – Great performances from area athletes deserve to be celebrated. Check out some of the top performers for this past week, and be sure to vote for the top performer!
OnFocus Team of the Week, May 30 – June 5
- Edgar Baseball(nominated online) – The Wildcats were in a battle with Abbotsford/Colby, tied at 6 heading into the top of the 8th inning, before erupting for 7 runs to gain a 13-6 decision on the road.
- Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln Girls Soccer – The Red Raiders claimed the Wisconsin Valley Conference Championship Friday evening by downing runnerup DC Everest, 4-2.
- Neillsville Baseball(nominated online) – The Warriors plated four runs in the top of the 8th and held on to down Columbus, 12-9 in an extra-inning affair. Neillsville pounded out 13 hits in their 17-3 win over Spencer, proving the Warriors’ lumber attack is thriving as we head to the postseason.
- SPASH Baseball – SPASH claimed its 13th WVC Title in 16 seasons with a DH split with DC Everest. The Panthers lost the opener in 9 innings before picking up the win in game 2 in the bottom of the 7th inning.
- Medford Softball – The Medford Raider Softball Team made history on Tuesday, becoming the first team other than Mosinee to win an outright Great Northern Conference title in softball in the history of the conference.<
