OnFocus Team of the Week, October 16 – October 22
- Medford Girls Cross Country – The Raiders dominated at the Black River Falls Division 2 Sectional, with 31 points. The Raiders had five top-ten finishes: Meredith Richter(2), Ella Daniels(5), Bjork Risa(7), Mallory Richter(8), and Ella Dassow(9.)
- Lakeland Boys Cross Country – The Thunderbirds took first at the Division 2 Oconto Falls Sectional, edging second-place Shawano by eight points. Owen Clark led the charge for Lakeland, finishing first overall.
- Phillips Boys and Girls Cross Country – The Loggers are headed to state after finishing first at the Phillips Division 3 Cross Country Sectional. Phillips edged Solon Springs/Northwood by four points to take the top spot. The Girls punched their ticket to state with a first-place finish as well, defeating their nearest competitor, Chequamegon, by 14 points.
- Athens Boys Cross Country – The Athens Boys took first at the Division 3 Athens Sectionals on Saturday, punching their ticket to the WIAA State Cross Country Meet. Also headed to state from the Athens sectional are Cree DeFoe of Stratford and Jaron Gage or Marathon.
- Stevens Point Boys Cross Country – The Panthers turned in a memorable performance Saturday, at the Stevens Point Division 1 Cross Country Sectionals. The Panthers not only took first place, but they obliterated the field, placing their 7 runners in positions 1-9, led by medalist Bode Erickson. Also qualifying for state were area runners Erek Ross(Wausau East), Josh Neilitz(Wausau West), and Colin Wellnitz(Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln.)
