OnFocus Team of the Week, October 27 – November 9
- Columbus Catholic Volleyball – The Dons earned their first trip to the WIAA playoffs, downing Royall in straight sets in the sectional final: 25-18, 25-19, 25-23. Columbus then wrapped up their season with a state semifinal win over Newman Catholic and state championship game victory over
- D.C. Everest Football – The #7 seeded Evergreens advanced to Level 3 with another road win, 45-24, at Madison Memorial. Running back Blake Bangston had a monster night, rushing for 303 yards on 40 carries and four rushing touchdowns(4, 13, 3 and 11 yards) Bangston added a 15 yard receiving touchdown for DCE. The Evergreens then picked up a Level 3 win over top-seeded Waunakee, 31-21, to advance to the Division 1 State Semifinals.
- Newman Catholic Volleyball – The Cardinals punched their ticket to another berth at state, downing Florence in the sectional final, 25-16, 25-11, 24-26, 25-11. In the sectional final, Newman lost its only set of the playoffs enroute to the state berth.
- Stevens Point Boys Cross Country – The Panthers picked up another WIAA State Cross Country Championship, easily besting the Division 1 Field Saturday afternoon at Wisconsin Rapids. Ethan Olds(4th) and Cooper Erickson (9th) led the charge for the Panthers’ title run.
- Rib Lake/Prentice Boys Cross Country – Rib Lake/Prentice picked up a second place finish at the WIAA State Division 3 Boys Cross Country Championships, led by Henry Regier’s 13th place finish. Central Wisconsin was well represented, with Phillips(8th) and Stratford(10th) faring well.
