OnFocus Team of the Week, September 26 – October 2

  • Stratford Boys Cross Country(nominated online) – Stratford won the team title at the Edgar Invite this week, a truly team effort. The Tigers placed four runners in the top 15, and tied for first with two other teams. The tiebreaker came down to the 6th place finisher, giving Stratford the team title.
  • Mosinee Volleyball – Mosinee set the Great Northern Conference consecutive undefeated (wins or ties) streak at 51 with their straight sets win over Lakeland. Mosinee broke the mark set by Antigo boys’ hockey, undefeated  (49-0-1) from 2013-14 through 2017-18.
  • Amherst Girls Cross CountryThe Falcons took first place at the Assumption Invite, edging the host Royals 27 to 28.
  • Marshfield FootballThe Tigers shut out Appleton West, 21-0, to improve to 3-2 in the Valley Football Association, in second place.  Marshfield remains in contention for the conference title, as the Tigers travel to Wisconsin Rapids in Week 8 before heading to SPASH for the regular season finale. SPASH, Wausau West and Wisconsin Rapids are all tied atop the VFA with a 4-1 mark.
  • Gilman Football (nominated online) – The Pirates improved to 6-0 in the CWC East 8 Player Football Conference with a convincing 42-6 win over Phillips.
