OSHKOSH – Marshfield could not overcome a poor shooting night and 16 turnovers as it dropped a nonconference girls basketball game to Oshkosh West 55-46 on Friday night at West High School.
The Tigers (3-6) shot 31 percent, making just 17 of 54 shots from the field, and also missed six of 14 free throw attempts in the loss. While Marshfield committed 16 turnovers, West (3-7) had only nine and shot 41 percent (23 of 56).
Maddie Michaelis made three 3-pointers and scored 15 points to lead Marshfield. Kaydee Johnson added 11 points, while leading scorer Jenna Jakobi was held to just seven points on 2-for-14 shooting.
Kiersten McNulty scored 13 points to lead the Wildcats, who had 10 different players score.
Marshfield returns to action for its annual holiday tournament next week. The Tigers will play Hudson on Dec. 27 and Oshkosh North on Dec. 28.
