Defense: key returning players - S – LOGAN AMACHER, CB – COLIN DALLMAN, LB – CONNOR SIMINGTON, LB – RYAN NELSON, NT – NATHAN ZARINS, DE – TREYTON TESSMER

Conference outlook - THE NEW CWCC LOOKS TO BE A VERY WELL-BALANCED CONFERENCE WITH TEAMS THAT ARE VERY FAMILIAR WITH ONE ANOTHER FROM THE OLD CLOVERBELT AND CLOVERWOOD CONFERENCES.  I EXPECT IT TO BE VERY COMPETITIVE, WELL COACHED, AND A VERY PHYSICAL STYLE OF FOOTBALL.  THORP AND GILMAN ARE BRINGING A GOOD SOLID CORE GROUP OF PLAYERS BACK FROM LAST SEASON.

Keys to your success on offense - WE ARE BRINGING BACK A CORE GROUP OF PLAYERS THAT HAVE EXPERIENCE.  WE NEED TO STAY HEALTHY AND GIVE US THE TIME TO DEVELOP THE NECESSARY DEPTH NEEDED FROM OUR YOUNGER PLAYERS.  OUR OFFENSIVE LINE IS THE HEART AND SOUL OF WHO WE ARE SO THE CHALLENGE OF GETTING THEM TO GEL AND DEVELOP THE CHEMISTRY NEEDED IS VERY IMPORTANT.

Keys to your success on defense - WE WILL NEED TO PLAY FAST AND HAVE THE ABILITY TO PLAY WELL IN SPACE.  READING OUR KEYS AND BELIEVING IN THEM WILL GET US TO THE POINT OF ATTACK AND THEN IT’S UP TO US TO BE FUNDAMENTALLY SOUND

Behind the scenes: Who are some of the people that help your program succeed? - WE ARE VERY FORTUNATE TO HAVE GREAT ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT ALONG WITH THE OUTSTANDING SUPPORT OF THE COMMUNITY.  WE HAVE A BOOSTER CLUB THAT IS ALWAYS WORKING IN THE BEST INTEREST OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT ATHLETES.  WE HAVE A GOOD YOUTH PROGRAM THAT HOPEFULLY CREATES A LEVEL OF EXCITEMENT IN OUR YOUNGER ATHLETES SO THEY LOOK TO STAY COMPETITIVE THROUGHOUT THEIR HIGH SCHOOL YEARS.

What is your football program all about? How do you measure success? - WE HOPE THAT OUR FOOTBALL PROGRAM GOES BEYOND THE X’S AND O’S AND HELPS YOUNG MEN AND YOUNG LADIES DEVELOP THOSE SKILL SETS THAT WILL ALLOW THEM TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN LIFE.  WE WILL CHALLENGE THEM TO BE THE BEST THEY CAN BE BOTH ON AND OFF THE FIELD.  IT IS IMPORTANT TO US AS A TEAM THAT WE ARE GREAT ROLE MODELS TO THOSE YOUNGER STUDENTS AND ENCOURAGE THEM TO BE THE FUTURE OF BLACKHAWK ATHLETICS.

Coach’s comments: anything else you’d like to share? - WE ARE EXCITED TO BE A PART OF THE CWCC AND LOOKING FORWARD TO MAKING THIS A MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE FOR ALL OF THOSE THAT PARTICIPATE.
