The Owen-Withee cross country team competed Thursday, September 7th at Stanley-Boyd High School. OW middle school runners were led by Evelyn Goessl who earned a 2nd place medal as she finished with a time of 14:52. Adelynn Petersen also earned a medal for her 6th place finish in a time of 15:02. Maddie Roberts finished in 37th (20:18) for the girls race and Caleb Davis in 31st (19:34) in the boys race.
The high school girls improved their times in Thursday‘s race. Both Ellie Petersen and Tegan Hatlestad continue to perform better with each meet as they each dropped about 20 seconds off their season best. Ellie Petersen finished the race in 24:47, good for 12th place. Tegan Hatlestad placed 24th with a time of 27:23.
The boys cross country team placed 6th overall in the team standings with McDonell Catholic winning the team score. They were led by Colton Paczkowski who placed 4th overall in a time of 18:11. Mason Gay finished the race in 18:42 which was good for 10th place. Both Colton and Mason earned medals for being top ten finishers. Quinn Hatlestad had his best race of the season so far with a time of 21:37 which earned him 27th place. Steven Negron also had his best race as he finished 34th in 22:18. Connor Hanson gave a really strong effort to start the race running in the front of the pack, but finished 63rd in 26:05.
