The Green Bay Packers and quarterback Aaron Rodgers have agreed to a four year contract extension, worth a total of $200 million.
$153 million of the contract is guaranteed, according to multiple media reports. The deal makes Rodgers the highest-paid player in NFL history on an annual basis while also reducing his salary-cap number for 2022.
By restructuring the final year of Rodgers’ contract, set to end after the 2022-23 season, the Packers made room under the salary cap to extend a qualifying offer, known as the ‘franchise tag’ on wide receiver Davante Adams, ensuring the duo will continue to play in Green Bay.
