Rodgers Engaged to Actress Shailene Woodley
On Saturday, February 6th, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers accepted his 2020 MVP award, and revealed that he’s engaged.
A few days ago, dozens of news sources reported and confirmed that Rodgers was in a “casual” and “long-distance” relationship with actress Shailene Woodley.
The news of their confirmed relationship was still the rounds when Rodgers subtly dropped some new and big personal news during his thank you speech while accepting his MVP award.
In his virtual acceptance speech Rodgers said, “2020 was definitely a crazy year filled with lots of change, growth, some amazing and memorable moments. 180 straight days of having my nose hair scraped, playing for very little fans or no fans in the stands the entire season, I got engaged, and I played some of the best football of my career.”
Rodgers went on to shout out the “great group of people” that supported him off the field, which included, “my fiancée,” of course.
The 2020 season marks the third time Rodgers has won the MVP award. He also won in 2011 and in 2014. The honor comes after he led the Packers to a 13-3 record, and threw for 4,299 yards and 48 touchdowns on the season.
In this special Pop Cultured News Break, host Carrie Lippert Gillaspie unpacks the Packers Quarterback accepting his award and subtly announcing his engagement.
