We take a look at Colby High School graduate and multi-sport athlete with our world-famous interview: ‘Pancakes or Waffles?’

OnFocus: What subjects/classes have been your favorite, and why?

Lopez: Shop classes or gym class. Just working with my hands and being competitive

OnFocus: What are your hobbies?

Lopez: Hunting, fishing, hanging out with friends

OnFocus: Who is/was your first favorite teacher and why?

Lopez: I had too many favorites to choose. Many helped me throughout my school career and
made me who I am today

OnFocus: What is the most unusual food you have eaten?

Lopez: Beef tongue

OnFocus: What is your favorite music to listen to?

Lopez:  Country

OnFocus: What are your plans after high school?

Lopez:  NWTC for gas utility program

OnFocus: What sports did you play throughout your high school career?

Lopez: Baseball basketball and football

OnFocus: Which teammate would you not want to be stranded with on a deserted
island?

Lopez:  Oscar Zamora

OnFocus: What are some memorable moments you have had as an athlete?

Lopez: My most memorable was our state championship my junior year. Then my entire senior year was very memorable. Winning conferences in all 3 sports was very special to me and my teammates

OnFocus: Who are your favorite athletes and/or teams?

Lopez: My favorite athletes are all my teammates I’ve played with throughout my years. We allgrew so much over the years and had so much fun and they all taught me more than Icould ever know. My brother is also one of my favorite athletes. He’s taught me so much
throughout my career with sports. My favorite team is the bucks

OnFocus: What do you enjoy most about competing in front of family, friends and fans?

Lopez: The atmosphere the field or gym brings. It’s always a blast to run onto the field or court
In Front of so many people and watch them support us. I just love competing so doing
something I love In Front of other people is very special

OnFocus: Do you have a funny or unusual moment(s) you have experienced in
sports?

Lopez: I wouldn’t say there is one time that stands out. My entire career has been so fun
and the guys around me make it funny. We always have a good time playing the
sports we love. Some of the best memories were during our practices just having
fun

OnFocus: What’s the best thing about being a student-athlete?

Lopez: Missing school. Also having the responsibility of being a leader on and off the court to younger generations

OnFocus: What words of wisdom can you give to other student-athletes?

Lopez: Give it everything you got. High school goes like a blink of an eye. Soak it all up and make
everything of the opportunity given and most importantly have fun.

Lopez:  Pancakes
