Mosinee’s Keagen Jirschele is a three sport standout athlete, earning multiple All-State honors and recognition.  Next up for Jirschele is his turn with our world-famous interview, as he answers all the important questions, including the one we all need to know the answer to: Pancakes or Waffles?

OnFocus: What are your favorite subjects/classes and why?  

Jirschele: My favorite class this year is AP Physics because it is something that I enjoy learning and something that’s a lot of real-life things.

OnFocus: What are your hobbies?  

Jirschele: My hobbies are playing and practicing baseball, football, and basketball. I also like to train and weight lift. When not doing anything with those sports, I like to hunt and fish.

OnFocus: Who is/was your first favorite teacher and why?  

Jirschele: My first-ever favorite teacher was my 3rd and 4th grade teacher Mrs. Egner. She was a super fun teacher who also taught really well. 

OnFocus: What is the most unusual food you have eaten?  

Jirschele: I haven’t eaten any unusual foods. 

OnFocus: What is your favorite music to listen to?  

Jirschele: I like to listen to country and rap music. 

OnFocus:  What are your plans after high school?  

Jirschele: I am going to play baseball at the University of South Dakota State. 

OnFocus:  If they made a movie about you, and your life, what would it be called?  

Jirschele: The Grind 

OnFocus: What sports do you play?   

Jirschele: Baseball, Basketball, Football

OnFocus: Which teammate would you not want to be stranded with on a deserted island?  

Jirschele: David Haskin because I don’t think he would know what to do. 

OnFocus:  What are some memorable moments you have had as an athlete?  

Jirschele: All of the different playoff games that I have participated in. It is a completely different atmosphere than any other game. 

OnFocus:  Who are your favorite athletes and/or teams?  

Jirschele: My favorite athlete is Francisco Lindor. 

OnFocus: What do you enjoy most about competing in front of family, friends and fans?

Jirschele:  I enjoy the support and energy that they give me while playing. 

OnFocus:  Do you have a funny or unusual moment(s) you have experienced in sports? 

Jirschele: When we went and shoveled snow off of our baseball field last year so that we could play. 

OnFocus: What’s the best thing about being a student-athlete at Mosinee?

Jirschele: The best thing about being a student-athlete at Mosinee is that there are a lot of them and sports are a big thing here. 

OnFocus:  What words of wisdom can you give to other student-athletes?  

Jirschele: Work as hard as you possibly can to achieve your dreams/goals. 

OnFocus: Lastly, pancakes or waffles?  

Jirschele: Waffles
