Colby (OnFocus) – Colby Student-Athlete River Halopka concluded an outstanding career as a high school wrestler this season, earning his second trip to state. The Abbotsford-Colby senior wrestler picked up his 100th win this season, and has shared his most memorable moment as a student athlete is competing at state.

We take an inside look at Halopka with the world famous interview, ‘Pancakes or Waffles?’ to see what makes Halopka ‘tick.’

OnFocus: What Classes are you taking this year?  

Halopka:  Lifetime math, lifetime sports, senior capstone.

OnFocus: What is your favorite class? 

Halopka: Lifetime sports.

OnFocus: Words of wisdom for other student athletes and wrestlers?  

Halopka: Score more points than the other guy. 

OnFocus: What are your hobbies? 

Halopka: Hunting and fishing.

OnFocus: Who is/was your favorite teacher? 

Halopka: Ms. Healy. 

OnFocus: What is the most unusual food you have eaten? 

Halopka: Squid.

OnFocus: What is your favorite music? 

Halopka: Country.

OnFocus: What are your plans for after High School?  

Halopka: Become an electrician.

OnFocus: If they were to make a movie about you and your life, what would it be called?

Halopka: Stream.

OnFocus: What other sports have you played?

Halopka: Played football, baseball and ran cross country 

OnFocus: Which teammate would you not want to be stranded on an island with?

Halopka: Tanner Halopka. 

OnFocus: Most memorable moment as a student athlete? 

Halopka: High School State Wrestling Tournament. 

OnFocus: Who is your favorite athlete?  

Halopka: Randall Cobb.

OnFocus: What do you enjoy the most about home dual meets and dual meet/tournaments?   

Halopka: Being able to wrestle and compete.

OnFocus: Best part of being a student athlete?   

Halopka: You’re always busy.
