OnFocus: What are your favorite subjects/classes and why?

Barthels: Math, because I find it the most interesting and the people in the class make it a great time.

OnFocus: What do you enjoy most about competing in front of family, friends and fans?

Barthels I enjoy the atmosphere, and competing with my teammates in front of people that support me.


OnFocus: What are your hobbies?

Barthels Golfing with my family and teammates.

OnFocus: Who is/was your first favorite teacher and why?

Barthels Mrs. Krieg because she is helpful, funny, and the nicest lady you will ever meet.

OnFocus: What is the most unusual food you have eaten?

Barthels Scorpion Sucker

OnFocus: What is your favorite music to listen to?

Barthels Rap, especially Drake.


OnFocus: What are your plans after high school?

Barthels Go to college and pursue a marketing degree.

OnFocus: If they made a movie about you, and your life, what would it be called?

Barthels ‘Survive and Overcome’

OnFocus: What sports do you play?

Barthels Football, Basketball, and Baseball.

OnFocus: Which teammate would you not want to be stranded with on a deserted
island?

Barthels Charlie Cayley, because he forgets to take showers.

OnFocus: What are some memorable moments you have had as an athlete?

Barthels Winning out first varsity football game in 1440 days. The atmosphere during our playoff game last year against Waupaca and pulling off a win.

OnFocus: Who are your favorite athletes and/or teams?

Barthels Wisconsin Basketball and Chucky Hepburn.


OnFocus: What do you enjoy most about competing in front of family, friends and fans?

Barthels I enjoy the atmosphere, and competing with my teammates in front of people that support me.


OnFocus: Do you have a funny or unusual moment(s) you have experienced in
sports?

Barthels Getting buzzcuts last year and getting flamed in front of every student section we played against.

OnFocus: What’s the best thing about being a student-athlete at Wausau East?

Barthels The bonds you can form with coaches and teammates in and outside of the sport.

OnFocus: What words of wisdom can you give to other student-athletes?

Barthels Take it in and enjoy it… it goes by fast.
