Parkinson’s Disease Conference Shares Tools for Caregivers

OnFocus – Marshfield Area Respite Care Center is hosting its annual Parkinson’s disease conference, an educational event for patients and caregivers on Monday, September 24 from 9 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. at the Holiday Inn and Convention Center.

Learn about treatment options, caregiving tools and support from local experts. Fred Markland, DPT, PT will review of the advances in deep brain stimulation for improved patient safety and outcomes. Erin Johnson from the ADRC will talk about tools for caregivers, Marcia Lindow will lead a Tai Chi chair exercise and Benjamin Hunter, PHD and Ekatrina Keifer, PHD will present on cognitive changes, mood and behaviors in Parkinson’s disease.

Cost to attend is $15, which includes lunch and respite services. There will be a “hospitality room” open to any individuals requiring a break from the conference and a place to rest. Registration requested. Register by calling Jeff Tisdell at 715-387-4569.
