Paws for Brittany Raises $19,000 for MAPS
MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – On a sun-kissed Saturday morning, the picturesque Wildwood Park witnessed an outpouring of love and support as 170 participants, accompanied by their furry companions, gathered for the annual Paws for Brittany event. This annual gathering, held in memory of Marshfield native Brittany Zimmermann, brought together community members, sponsors, donors, and participants to raise over $19,000 in support of the Marshfield Area Pet Shelter (MAPS).
The 2.3-mile fun run and dog walk, winding through the scenic Wildwood Park & Zoo, provided a memorable experience for families and pets alike.
“This event is not just a fundraiser; it’s a celebration of Brittany’s enduring love for animals and her vibrant spirit,” said MAPS Executive Director Karen Rau. “We are deeply moved by the overwhelming support from the community and grateful to everyone for honoring Brittany’s legacy in such a meaningful way.”
New additions to this year’s event, including a photo booth hosted by Lifeline Event Services and delicious offerings from the Stone Press Food Truck, added to the festive atmosphere. Weiler Convenience Stores also attended to fundraise with their annual custom t-shirt sale.
The significance of Paws for Brittany extends beyond a single event; it symbolizes a community’s commitment to honoring Brittany’s memory and supporting MAPS in its mission to provide care and shelter for homeless animals. The event’s proceeds contribute to the ongoing efforts of MAPS, ensuring that every animal receives the care and compassion they deserve.
Paws for Brittany serves as a poignant reminder of Brittany’s enduring impact on the community and her dedication to the welfare of animals. As participants, sponsors, and volunteers come together each year, they honor Brittany’s spirit and ensure that her legacy of kindness and empathy lives on.
