Two Wisconsin Perkins Restaurants Close
Two Perkins restaurants in La Crosse and Janesville closed suddenly on Sunday after the company entered Chapter 11 bankruptcy as part of a restructuring process. A total of 10 Perkins and 19 Marie Callender’s restaurants closed Sunday.
The Perkins in Marshfield is not part of those closings, according to a spokeswoman.
Perkins and Marie Callender’s will sell the Perkins’ business and part of its Foxtail baked goods manufacturing business, which supplies pies and more for its in-store bakeries and third-party customers, to Perkins Group LLC.
The company expects to operate normally while completing the sale. Discussions will be made with potential buyers and investors for its Marie Callender’s restaurants.
“Our intention moving forward is to minimize disruptions and ensure that the sale process is as seamless to our guests, employees, and vendors as possible,” stated Jeff Warne, President & CEO of Perkins & Marie Callender’s, LLC.
There are currently 342 Perkins restaurants in 32 states and Canada. Perkins and Marie Callender’s combined in 2006. Perkins also filed for bankruptcy in 2011.
