Voting for the area’s top performers saw fans turn out to show support for the top athletic performances in the area. Picking up the title of OnFocus Athlete of the Week, September 24 – September 30 was Tryg Mollman of Phillips Football, 438 votes.
Second place went to Aden Cherney of Auburndale Football took second place with 223 votes.
Abbey Gust/Teagann Bondioli of Wisconsin Rapids Girls Tennis and Keagen Jirschele of Mosinee Football tied for third place with 180 votes. Nasiah Holland of Amherst Football took fifth place with 144 votes.
OnFocus Athlete of the Week, September 24 – September 30
- Aden Cherney, Auburndale Football – Cherney came up big for the Eagles in their Marawood matchup with Abbotsford. Cherney drained a field goal as time expired to give Auburndale a 34-31 win.
- Keagen Jirschele, Mosinee Football (nominated online) – Jirschele had 7 receptions for 151 yards and a 66 yard touchdown strike from Treve Stoffel, rushed for a 7 yard score, and returned a punt 96 yards for a touchdown as Mosinee shut out Antigo 35-0.
- Abbey Gust/Teagann Bondioli, Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln Girls Tennis – Rapids #1 Doubles Team took first place at the WVC Girls Tennis Meet, defeating their opponents in straight sets.
- Nasiah Holland, Amherst Football – Holland rushed for 208 yards and had touchdown runs of 2, 1, 31 and 49 yards as Amherst defeated Weyauwega-Fremont 57-36 in CWC Large Football action on Friday.
- Tryg Kollman, Phillips Football – Kollman scored 5 touchdowns and had 303 yards rushing on 11 carries, scoring on runs of 39, 70, 70, 39 and 53 yards as Phillips downed Northwood/Solon Springs 42-12.
