Sisters Jada Eggebrecht and Kacy Eggebrecht were voted the OnFocus Athletes of the Week for February 6 – February 12. The duo collected 300 votes.
Taking second place was Logan Baumgartner of Medford, who had 232 votes. Third place went to Terrance Cottrell-Roberson of Auburndale, picking up 138 votes.
OnFocus Athlete of the Week, February 6 – February 12
- Logan Baumgartner, Medford Boys Basketball – Logan and the Medford Raiders had a huge week, first on Tuesday Logan scored his 1000th point in a 62-39 win over Rhinelander. Then on Friday Medford got an 82-57 win over Northland Pines, Logan scored 28 to lead the Raiders.
- Cade Casey, SPASH Boys Swimming(nominated online) – Casey made it to the WIAA Swimming and Diving Championships with a first place finish in the 100 backstroke at the Hudson Sectionals.
- Kacy Eggebrecht / Jada Eggebrecht, Phillips Girls Basketball – The Eggebrecht sisters combined for 47 points (Jada 26, Kacy 21) as Phillips handled Athens in Marawood Conference North basketball, 81-50.
- Mason Prey, Newman Catholic Boys Basketball – Prey scored 33 points and topped the 1,000 career point scoring mark as Newman destroyed Greenwood, 82-29. Prey was 5 of 7 from three-point territory, and made all 8 of his other field goals in the win.
- Terrance Cottrell-Roberson, Auburndale Boys Basketball – Terrance scored 11 in Auburndale’s Marawood crossover win against the Athens Bluejays. None bigger than the three-point shot he banked in as time expired to give Auburndale the 55-52 win.
