PITTSVILLE, WI (OnFocus) – Pittsville Area Community Theater is going big in their return to the stage this summer with the most famous murder mystery of all time, Agatha Christie’s “Murder On The Orient Express.” The show boasts intrigue, deception, romance, and Broadway-caliber comedy to spice up the summer.

“It’s an extremely exciting show to be a part of. It’s the ultimate murder mystery,” said Andrew Spencer, Director at Pittsville Area Community Theater. “We’re taking on one of Agatha Christie’s greatest works and bringing the Orient Express to life here in Central Wisconsin. Expect to be wowed.”

Bringing Communities Together with Art

Talent abounds in “Orient Express”. Greg Jackan, local favorite and Marshfield resident, takes on the role of Hercule Poirot, Agatha Christie’s famous Belgian detective with an epic moustache. Poirot is accompanied in his investigation by Ed Krall of Marshfield in the role of Monsieur Bouc, the head of the train company Wagon-Lit. The suspects include Roxie Wetterau and Lizzy Gruenloh of Marshfield, Cayley Gosney and Wes Reshel of Pittsville, Nancy Halterman and Todd Prosser of Neillsville, Amanda Valencia of Weston, Kimmy Ludgren and Sophie Chase of Auburndale, and Levi Henk of Stevens Point.

“Our talented cast comes from just about every age group and from all over the region,” said Andrew Spencer, Director. “They have great chemistry and are so fun to watch that I find myself laughing along instead of directing. That’s a good sign!”

“Murder” Revealed

Set aboard the most luxurious train of all time, the “Murder” mystery takes off when the train becomes trapped in a blizzard and a passenger turns up dead – setting off an investigation into the crew and passengers that reveals the good, the bad, and the hilarious. Pittsville Area Community Theater aims to follow up the success of last year’s “Plaza Suite” with another crowd-pleasing good time. “Murder On the Orient Express” tickets are available online right now at Eventbrite.com for $12, and same day at the door for $15.

“Murder On the Orient Express” is performed at the Pittsville Auditorium, 5459 Elementary Ave, Pittsville WI 54466. The show spans two weekends and has 3 evening performances and 3 matinee performances:

  • Friday July 14th: 7:30 pm
  • Saturday July 15th: 7:30 pm
  • Sunday July 16th: 2:30 pm
  • Friday July 21st: 7:30 pm
