PITTSVILLE DOMINATES ROSHOLT

The Panther Football team was able to notch their first win of the season with a 41-0 win over Rosholt to open conference play. Pittsville came out hot with Jackson Duerr blocking a punt and Dawson Luther punching it in from 8 yards out on the first offensive play. Logan Zickert hit Jameson Krueger for the 2 point conversion and a 8-0 lead. Late in the first quarter, Luther again found the end zone from 3 yards out for a 14-0 lead. Just before the end of the first half, Zickert threw a dart to Grant Rademan for a 8 yard TD pass, the same connection came together for the 2 point conversion. Pittsville led 22-0 at halftime. The Panthers put the game away in the third quarter with two touchdown runs. Dalton Darr barreled in from 5 yards out and Hartley Swan jetted in from 4 yards. Super Senior Darr put the finishing touches on the Panther win in the 4th quarter with a 7 yard touchdown, Kruger booted in his first career extra point for the final score of 41-0.
Luther again led the offense with 148 yards rushing, two touchdowns and 35 yards receiving. Darr tallied 64 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Rounding out the rushing attack was Zickert with 35 yards, Connor Millard with 12 yards, and Swan with 4 yards and a touchdown. Zickert was 2 for 5 for 43 yards and one touchdown. Rademan had one catch for an 8 yard touchdown.
The Panther defense was flying around causing chaos all night and pitched a shutout. Matthew Gudel led the defense with 8 tackles, Duerr wrangled 7 tackles and a blocked punt. Caden Behselich and Dawson Luther each had 5 tackles. Numerous players had tackles and contributed to a dominating defensive performance.
Pittsville travels to Auburndale on September 13 for a big conference battle.
