Custom Ag in Pittsville Creates Unique Items

PITTSVILLE, WI (OnFocus) – Since 2008, Joe Regenold and family have been crafting unique custom fabricated products right here in Central Wisconsin. Based in Pittsville since 2014 (where wife Doddie is from), the Regenold family moved back and continued their business under the name “Custom Ag Products.”

“We are a family-run business and enjoy designing and fabricating things that people may need, whether that be a business, commercial, industrial or residential,” said Joe. “We fabricate for everyone from farmers to general contractors to residential customers.”

From custom fire pits to unique signs to snow gauges, Custom Ag crafts a little bit of everything. Each day is different, with most of the work taking place in their shop located between Pittsville and Marshfield, though they will also do field installation on products if needed.

A true family business, Joe’s three sons are actively involved in the work.

“I have twin sons that are almost 14 years old (Dalton and Dominic) and our youngest (Devin) is 10 years old. The boys are very hands-on with the business – they weld and fabricate,” said Joe. “My wife is a huge part of the business. She takes care of the drafting, accounting and many other parts.”

Both Joe and Doddie come from skilled trade backgrounds.

“I am a Sheet Metal worker that went through an apprenticeship. My wife has worked for Staab Construction of Marshfield for almost 20 years,” he said. “She was in the field working on various job sites and went into the office and is now Operations Manager for Staab, where she manages manpower and apprenticeships for the field employees.”

“Both of us see a huge need for skilled trades with today’s youth and upcoming workforce,” said Joe. “My boys don’t have to go into a skilled trade – they can make their own decisions – but they will have a lot of real-world knowledge by using skills that are in high demand that hopefully they will use later in life.”

Custom Ag sign

Custom Ag products can be ordered through Facebook and are also currently available at Schalow’s Nursery in Marshfield. The family also typically has a booth at Marshfield’s Maple Fest and Warrens Cranberry Fest.

“I have the boys talk to the customers to build a better communication skill so they can explain how the pieces are made,” said Joe. “They get an overwhelming response to this because most people find it interesting talking to them.”

In their booth is a sign they made that says: “Give Kids a tool box, not an Xbox.”.

Services they offer include TIG Welding (Aluminum, Stainless, Steel), Mig Welding, CNC Plasma Cutting, Mechanical, and Commercial/Residential Signage.
