Pittsville Girls Defeat Adams-Friendship, Reese Grimm Becomes All-Time Leading Scorer
The Pittsville Panther Girls’ Basketball Team moved to 6-3 on the season with a 56-41 victory over the visiting Adams Friendship Devils. Pittsville jumped out to a 31-22 halftime lead, led by Reese Grimm with 11 pts at the half, and would tighten up their defense in the second half and expand the lead to the final margin of 15 pts.
With a basket in the 2nd half, Reese Grimm became Pittsville Girls’ Basketball’s All-time Leading Scorer, passing up Deb Neve(Marten) who previously held the mark with 1069 pts. Earlier this season, Reese became only the 3rd player in school history to break the 1,000 Pt mark. Grimm finished with 21 Pts, a career high 11 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals. Brynn Friday chipped in 12 pts and 8 rebs, while surpassing 800 pts in her 4-year career. Brooke Grossman had 7 pts and 5 steals, and Gwynn Kumm and Lana Vollert contributed 8 and 7 pts respectively.
