Halftime: 29-12
Pittsville and Port Edwards played their last regular season game for the 21-22 season on Thursday, Feb. 17.  Pittsville won the game 69-19, but the game was secondary to a bigger event that the two teams celebrated.  Pittsville held a Don Neve recognition night to honor a former coach who spent more than 30 years coaching in the Pittsville school district and added another 4 more years of coaching in Port Edwards.  Don Neve was the Pittsville girls’ head basketball coach from 1984-2000 and then served as an assistant basketball coach for several more years along with being an assistant football, baseball, and softball coach during many of those years as well.  He also has ties to Port Edwards.
Prior to his passing in 2019, Coach Neve was an assistant coach for the Port Edwards girls basketball team, where his daughter Deb is the coach and his granddaughters, Jade (2019 grad.)  and current senior Taylor Martin play.  A 50/50 raffle was held during the night where the proceeds will go to a scholarship at Pittsville High School set up in his name.
