Pittsville Hosting “Christmas in the Center” On Dec. 4

PITTSVILLE, WI (OnFocus) – An annual Christmas tradition will return to Pittsville this year as the “Christmas in the Center” celebration will take place this weekend.

The event, organized by community members and organizations, will have plenty of opportunities for families to have some fun ahead of Christmas time.

The Pittsville Community Library is partnering with the Pittsville High School FCCLA club to put on the new Hot Chocolate Hustle. The one or two mile walk will begin and end at the library and will start at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Registration is $10/person with ages 12 and under free. The first 50 registrants will receive a mug with the Hot Chocolate Hustle logo printed on it.

After the walk, there is a free hot chocolate bar for all participants. Proceeds go towards the summer library program and downtown Pittsville beautification projects.

Other events will follow the Hot Chocolate Hustle including the Cary Go Getter 4H Soup Fundraiser, a vendor and craft sale, a visit from Santa and a free Christmas movie for kids.

The soup fundraiser and vendor and craft sale will be held in the Pittsville Community Hall beginning at 10 a.m. and running until 3 p.m. Soups available for purchase in three sizes are: Chicken Dumpling, Creamy Wild Rice, Chili and Potato.

You can also purchase water, coffee, milk, baked goods and cheese curds. You can choose to dine in or carry out the soup and other items.

The movie “The Chosen”will be shown at the PHS auditorium sponsored by Crossroads Church. Tickets will be available at the door or online.

The Christmas movie and some crafts for kids will begin at 11 a.m. at the Library and the visit from Santa and Mrs. Clause will begin at 12 p.m. at the “Greenspace”. More information on the day’s proceedings can be found here.
