Pittsville Track and Field’s Reese Grimm captured the title of OnFocus Athlete of the Week, May 21- May 27, earning 218 votes.
Joseph Belanger/Layne Roeser of Rhinelander Boys Tennis earned second place with 194 votes.
Third place went to Mateo Lope of Abby/Colby Baseball, picking up 169 votes. Stratford Baseball’s Jack Tubbs finished in fourth place with 137 votes.
OnFocus Athlete of the Week, May 21 – May 27
- Reese Grimm, Pittsville – Grimm achieved a personal record and took first place in the 400m at sectionals, punching her ticket to the WIAA State Track Meet on Friday.
- Joseph Belanger/Layne Roeser, Rhinelander Boys Tennis – The Hodag duo qualified for the WIAA State Boys Tennis Tournament, Thursday thru Saturday in Madison.
- Mateo Lopez, Abbotsford/Colby Baseball – Lopez homered twice for Abby/Colby in their 11-1 win over Black River Falls/Fall Creek in WIAA Baseball Regional action.
- Colin Belton, D.C. Everest Boys Tennis – Belton made it to the WIAA Boys State Tennis Tournament, Thursday thru Saturday.
- Jack Tubbs, Stratford Baseball(nominated online) – Tubbs led the Marawood Conference South with a .481 batting average as well as 15 stolen bases.
