Plover Black Sox Drops Game To Holmen After Late Score

Sunday’s game against Holmen was a heartbreaker for Plover Black Sox, as they lost the lead late in a 4-2 defeat. The game was tied at two with Holmen batting in the top of the sixth when Gunner H singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Plover Black Sox lost despite out-hitting Holmen eight to six.

Holmen got things moving in the first inning, when an error scored one run for Holmen.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Plover Black Sox tied things up at two when Caleb Mayer singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.

Tucker G earned the win for Holmen. Tucker lasted five innings, allowing six hits and two runs while striking out one. Evan J threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Jon Nafe took the loss for Plover Black Sox. The righty surrendered two runs on four hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking zero.

Plover Black Sox had eight hits in the game. Brycen Cashin and Kenny Schultz each managed multiple hits for Plover Black SoxSchultz and Cashin all had two hits to lead Plover Black Sox.

Holmen saw the ball well today, racking up six hits in the game. Evan K and Gunner all managed multiple hits.
