OnFocus (Marshfield): Police Pursuit Leads to Arrest of Felony Warrant Suspect
Marshfield was the site of a high-speed police pursuit on Wednesday morning that resulted in the arrest of a 43-year-old man. The pursuit, which took place shortly after 8 AM, saw the man, who was known to have a Felony Body Only Warrant through the Department of Corrections, attempt to flee from Marshfield Police officers after a routine traffic stop.
The pursuit, which reached speeds of 60 mph, lasted for 3 miles, until a pursuit intervention technique was successfully employed, bringing the suspect vehicle to a halt. The man was then taken into custody without further incident, while his passenger, a 41-year-old Rhinelander man, was also arrested, but later released after further investigation.
The 43-year-old man is now facing a number of charges, including Eluding/Fleeing Officer, Possession of Methamphetamine, 2nd Degree Reckless Endanger Safety, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. These charges will be forwarded to the Wood County District Attorney’s Office for consideration. Additionally, Probation and Parole has placed a hold on the man, who is currently in custody at the Wood County Jail.
