Police Pursuit in Progress
OnFocus – Area police departments are in an active high-speed pursuit. Reports indicate that the pursuit originated in northern Wood County on Sunday afternoon. As of 4:00 PM, the pursuit was still active in Wisconsin Rapids with speeds in excess of 90 MPH in the area of Hwy 13 and Hwy 73.
4:17 PM Officers terminated the pursuit near Applebee’s on 8th Street in Wisconsin Rapids due to risk of public. There was a reported risk to pedestrians in cross-walk.
Reports indicate that there was originally 3 suspects in the vehicle, at the time of the terminate of the pursuit there was only 1 suspect in the vehicle. The vehicle is being reported as a small compact black car.
Drivers in the area should be aware.
4:28 PM Officers reports indicate that one male subject is in custody.
