A Marshfield woman reported that her van was struck by an unknown vehicle while it was parked on the 200 block of E. 9th St. She took photographs of the damage and debris left behind by the striking vehicle. The debris is from the right mirror of a 2006-2012 Ford Fusion according to a search of the part numbers on the debris (cinnamon in color). The debris will be placed in evidence and the woman stated she will email the photographs for the case file.
December 3
Wal-Mart Loss Prevention staff reported capturing a theft of several items on camera. The video footage was collected. The suspect is unknown at this time. This case will be forwarded to the Detective Bureau for further investigation. The phones were entered into NCIC as stolen.
A 31-year-old Marshfield female reported that she received an unwanted message from a 30-year-old Marshfield male. The male was issued a stalking letter.
December 6
A Wal-Mart employee reported a 41-year-old Marshfield male exiting the last point of sale with a liquor bottle of Ole Smokey Liquor. Contact was made with the male and he was arrested for retail theft and criminal trespass. The male also had a valid warrant through Probation and Parole Charges are being requested through the Marathon County District Attorney’s Office.
A Marshfield man reported a 43-year-old male patron at his bar making inappropriate, violent, and homicidal comments/conversations with other bar customers. The man stated the male’s comments made the bartender uncomfortable and fearful. He informed officers that he did not want the male to return to the bar. Contact was made with the male and denied making the alleged comments, and said he did not wish to harm anyone or himself. The male was also informed to not return to the bar.
Wal-Mart Loss Prevention staff reported a Marshfield male exiting the last point of sale with a liquor bottle of Appleton Rum and not wearing any pants. Contact was made with the male who admitted to stealing the liquor bottle. Charges of Retail Theft (Repeater) and Disorderly Conduct will be requested through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office. The male was also issued a citation for Trespassing.
December 7
An 18-year-old Marshfield female was speaking with Wood County Investigators about an incident involving a 21-year-old homeless man. The woman disclosed to the investigators the male stole money from her. They requested an officer respond and take the complaint. Officer spoke with the woman who stated she and the male were dating and living together when the money went missing. She stated she left the money in a Tupperware container in a kitchen cabinet. She states that she cashes her checks and then puts it in the cabinet. The woman stated that $100 went missing around the middle of September and $400 went missing around the first part of October. She stated she asked the male about the missing money but he denied taking it and accused the woman’s sister. The male is currently homeless and it’s unknown where he is staying. The woman asked for a report to be done.
December 8
A kid’s bike was found on S. Maple Ave. and was turned in to officers. The bike is being held at the Marshfield Police Department.
MPD assisted by overtaking a pursuit that started in Marathon County and was entering the City of Marshfield. A 36-year-old male from Westboro, WI was operating a stolen vehicle and was subsequently taken into custody and transported to Wood County Jail. Multiple charges are being requested through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.
Wal-Mart Loss Prevention staff called to report they had a male suspect detained for retail theft and another female suspect was in the parking lot in the listed vehicle. Upon officer arrival, the vehicle began leaving and was stopped. The back of the truck had numerous items from the store in plain view. A 34-year-old Black River Falls man was taken into custody within the store for retail theft. A 43-year-old Neillsville woman who was a passenger of the vehicle was taken into custody also for retail theft. Both individuals were booked and then transported to Marathon County jail. Both will be referred charges for Retail theft, Misdemeanor Bail Jumping, and the man will have an additional charge of Felony Bail Jumping. The woman also had a Probation Hold placed on her. All of the stolen items were able to be turned over to Wal-Mart staff on site.
December 9
A Colby woman reported receiving a picture via text from her daughter, a 20-year-old Marshfield female. The picture showed the daughter with a bloody nose with no explanation. The woman contacted the police with concern for her daughter due to an ongoing domestic relationship that her daughter has been struggling with. Ultimately contact was made with the daughter and her boyfriend and charges will be submitted for both parties for disorderly conduct and misdemeanor bail jumping.
A 30-year-old Marshfield female came to the police department to post bond on a Wisconsin Rapids traffic warrant. A bond of $124 was collected and mailed to the Wisconsin Rapids Municipal Court.
