Wood County Dispatch received a report of a possible child abuse incident at a residence on W McMillan St. The case is under investigation.
6.25.20 at 0603
A manager of a business on N. Central Ave reported that two juveniles were on their property during non-business hours. Contact was made with a 14-year-old Unity juvenile and a 17-year-old Colby juvenile. Each of the parents were contacted and made aware they left their homes during the night. Arrangements were made for each juvenile to get a ride home with a family member.

It was reported people going into yards that were not theirs on the 2700 block of S Apple Ave. The woman reporting the incident was able to obtain the listed license plate prior to the vehicle leaving the area. The vehicle was located and a traffic stop was conducted. An exterior vehicle sniff was completed by K9 Steffi and she alerted to the odor of a controlled substance(s) emitting from the vehicle. One occupant was issued a citation for Poss. THC, another was arrested and turned over to Taylor Co SO for body only warrants, and a third will have charges requested for Poss. Methamphetamine through the Wood Co DA’s Office.

A report was made of possible abuse of an employee, a 50-year-old Marshfield male. The person reporting stated the employee made concerning statements regarding his home life to his supervisor.
6.25.20 at 1140
A 59-year-old Marshfield male created a domestic disturbance at a residence on the 1400 block of N. Peach Ave. but left the scene prior to officers arriving. Upon making contact with the male later at his residence, he was found to be in possession of several controlled substances and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested, taken to the Marshfield Police Department where he was booked, issued a stalking warning letter, and later released. Charges are being requested through the Wood County D.A.’s office.

It was reported that a 67-year-old Marshfield woman has been receiving multiple phone calls and voicemails from a 75-year-old Marshfield male who currently has an open case with a bond rule to not have contact with the woman. Charges will be requested on the male through Wood County District Attorney’s Office.
6.25.20 at 1843
A traffic stop was conducted on the 2500 block of S. Maple Street. K9 Steffi alerted to the odor of a controlled substance within the vehicle. A 22-year-old Marshfield arrested Male for was possession transported of THC. Probation and Parole Department was contacted and did place a hold on the male, and a DOC warrant was issued. The Male was transported to the Marshfield Police Department for booking procedures and release.

A traffic stop was conducted at N. Central Ave./Cleveland. K9 Ace alerted to the odor of a controlled substance within the vehicle. A 33-year-old Ironwood Michigan man was arrested for various charges, transported to Marshfield Police Department for booking procedures, and released. Charges of Possession of THC, Drug Paraphernalia, Schedule II Narcotic, and Prescription Medication without Prescription.

The victim reported that her vehicle was taken from the 1600 block of N Central Ave. without her consent. The vehicle was located in Waupaca County and the driver a 34-year-old Germantown male was taken into custody by Waupaca County on unrelated charges_ The male will also have charges for taking a motor vehicle without owners consent sent to the Wood County D.A’s office.
6.27.20 at 0135
Hotel staff called the police at the request of a patron after a 39-year-old Belvidere male caused a disturbance on the 1600 block of N. Central Ave. The initial investigation resulted in the man being removed from the property. Follow up the following evening with the patron revealed the incident met the criteria for a domestic abuse incident. The man reported to the police department for booking procedure, posted bond, and was released. A charge of Disorderly Conduct is being requested through the Wood County District Attorney’s office.
6.27.20 at 0919
A traffic stop was conducted at the corner of Blodgett/St Joseph. During the course of the traffic stop, K9 Rika indicated to the presence of a restricted controlled substance coming from within the vehicle. During a subsequent search of the vehicle and occupants, a total of 1.2 grams of methamphetamine and a syringe were located. A 32-year-old Marshfield man was arrested for and will be charged with possession of methamphetamine. He was booked and released.
6.29.20 at 1032
A 69-year-old Marshfield man reported being the victim of an online scam. Contact was made with him via text messages stating that they had explicit photos of him, which they would release unless he paid them $750. The man paid $750 in the form of Amazon and Google Play gift cards. He was informed to file a complaint with IC3.gov.
6.29.20 at 1716
A 23-year-old Marshfield man reported on the above date a 21 y/o Marshfield male came over to his residence whom he believes may have stolen money from out of his nightstand while he was visiting. The complainant did state however he never saw the male enter his bedroom where the nightstand is. The male denied taking the money, there is no surveillance footage, and his apartment is always locked and was not forcibly entered. The man stated the only other person who entered his apartment during the timeframe and who has a key is his mother, who he does not suspect would go through his belongings and she stated she did not take any money. There are no other suspects the man could provide.

A 70-year-old Marshfield man called dispatch to report being scammed out of $1,000. While the man’s wife was using the internet a pop-up article indicated to call them regarding their computer be jeopardized. They spoke to an unknown individual that stated they had fraud activity on their checking account and were transferred to someone posing as their local bank representative. This person advised them to go to Pick n Save and obtain $8,000 worth of Target gift cards and give them the number on the back of the cards to “safely” withdraw their checking account and transfer into a safer account. The man then realized this was a scam and contacted his local bank which indicated that no one from the entire branch had any knowledge of contact with him. The man was scammed out of $1,000. No further action possible at this time.
