11.8.19 at 2135
A 28-year-old Marshfield Male reported that his ex-stepdad, a 60-year-old Spencer male, sent him a social media message that was harassing in nature. Contact was made with the male and he was warned for his behavior.
11.9.19 at 0826
A 23-year-old Auburndale male reported he was struck in the head by a 27-year-old Marshfield male. As a result of the investigation the 27-year-old male was placed under arrest and transported to the Marshfield Police Department for booking. The male was then transported to the Marathon County Jail. Charges for substantial battery will be forwarded to the Marathon County District Attorney’s Office
11.9.19 at 2246
Officer observed a vehicle on N. Central Ave/97 operating with loud exhaust, erratic driving behavior and 7 passengers. Officer initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver via WI-DL. the passengers ages varied from 18 to 14 years old. A female passenger was not wearing a seatbelt. The driver had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and smelled of an intoxicant. Driver admitted to consuming alcohol and performed poorly on SFSTs. Driver PBT’d a 0.16. Several open cans of Budweiser were located in the vehicle. Three of the passengers were also issued citations for underage consumption of alcohol after PBTs were administered. Blood draw was conducted. Driver was booked and released to a sober adult. Citations were issued.

A 74-year-old Marshfield male called 911 requesting help. Upon officer arrival, the male was intoxicated and stated he called because he was lonely. This is the ninth time the male has used 911 services for no legitimate purpose. Four weeks prior the male had been separately cited and arrested for the same offense. An additional charge of 911 system abuse will be requested through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.

During a traffic stop at E 5th St and S. Cedar Ave., a 32-year-old Brown Deer female was arrested for OWI. While conducting a search of the vehicle, marijuana and a pill bottle containing morphine pills was located. Female was transported to Marshfield Police Department for booking procedures and then to Wood County Jail. Charges of Possession of THC and Schedule 11 Narcotic will be requested to Wood County District Attorney’s Office.
11.10.19 at 0400
Officers were dispatched to Emerald Street for a report of a crash and possible drunk
driver incident. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the owner of both vehicles and observed damage to both vehicles consistent to a crash. The defendant had bloodshot and glossy eyes, had a heavy odor of intoxicant coming from her person, admitted to consuming alcohol and was very unsteady on her feet.
Throughout officers investigation, the defendant was uncooperative, yelling profanities and being verbally abusive to officers. At one point officers made entry into the residence to interview a witness to the crash and the defendant attempted to enter the residence against officer’s lawful orders to stay outside while the officer inside conducted his investigation.
The defendant attempted to force her way into the residence via the front door. Officers repeatedly instructed her to not go inside and tried to push the front door closed however the defendant continued to try to make entry. Officers attempted to place the defendant under arrest however she began to pull her hands away from officer’s grasps. She was eventually taken into custody for OWI and obstructing/resisting an officer. Throughout officer contact with her at the residence, at the police department and at the emergency room she was verbally abusive, excessively emotional, using profane language and refused to comply with officers orders on multiple occasions.

Marshfield Ambulance personnel reported the stop sign at Vine and 5th appeared to have been struck. Upon officer arrival, the sign was bent and could not be seen by westbound traffic on 5th Street. Officers were able to bend it back to a usable position. City garage was notified. Officers followed tire tracks in the fresh snow and located the striking vehicle. A 16-year-old was identified as the driver. The car had minor damage to the front bumper. There is no estimate of damage at this time. The driver will be receiving written warnings.

Wood County Dispatch received a 911 call from a female who was crying but then hung up and attempts to call her back were unsuccessful. Police were able to determine where the call was originating from, on S. Central Ave., and contact was made. During the investigation a 40-year-old Marshfield male was arrested for a domestic related offense. Charges are being requested through the Wood County D.A.’s office.

A 24-year-old Marshfield woman reported that her husband, a 24-year-old Marshfield man, had been physical towards her. She reported that an altercation occurred. The woman reported minor injuries. The Marshfield man was arrested, booked, and released. There is a 72-hour no contact placed between the woman and the Marshfield man.

A 16-year-old Marshfield male reported a family disturbance involving his 21-year-old sister and himself. Investigation resulted in no enforcement action taken.
11.11.19 at 1717
A 62-year-old Marshfield woman called to report she believed she had been scammed out of $500. The woman had been using her laptop computer when a pop-up window came on the screen and she clicked on it. This caused alert messages to come on and a number to call to fix the problem. The woman called the number and the unknown suspect informed her that he worked for Microsoft. He stated that in order for him to fix her computer she would need to obtain $500 worth of Ebay gift cards. The woman did as told and gave the gift card numbers to the suspect. The woman then realized she was tricked. Her bank was contacted to put an alert on her bank account as she was not sure if she gave account number as well. The woman was advised to shut offer her computer and that legitimate payments are not conducted by gift cards to pay for services.

A complainant asked the Marshfield Police Department to assist with locating a 16-year-old runaway. The runaway was found with two other juveniles at Walmart that were also out past curfew hours. The juveniles were all returned to their parents.

A 40-year-old Marshfield woman reported a 59-year-old Menasha man had attempted contact with her through social media. She told officers that he previously had a no contact order with her that was placed through probation and parole. She also reported that the incident involving the Menasha man occurred 10 years prior. It was found there was no current no contact order between her and the Menasha man.

A 52-year-old man reported that a 45-year-old Marshfield female has his vehicle and has kept it longer than he has wanted her to have it. He stated that the relationship is ending but he allows her to use the vehicle but was supposed to have it back on 11-10. At this time he does not want to pursue charges, just wants his vehicle back. Officer left a message with the female to return the vehicle. The female then contacted the man and was upset with him for calling the police. At this time she has been advised to return the vehicle and he will contact law enforcement if more action is needed.

A 20-year-old Auburndale female reported her laptop was stolen out of her backpack while she was at the UW-Stevens Point at Marshfield campus. Upon investigation the laptop was located and returned to the complainant.

Probation and Parole contacted police and requested a welfare check on a 23-year-old Marshfield female after making statements about wanting to die if she needs to go to jail. Contact was made with the female and she did not meet the criteria for an emergency detention after speaking with Crisis Intervention. Probation and Parole placed a hold on the female. Booking procedures were completed and she was transported to the Wood County Jail.
11.14.19 at 0205
Officers were dispatched to a gas station for a 34-year-old Marshfield man reporting that he had been stabbed in the hand by his 44-year-old roommate. Officers arrived on scene and the complainant was transported to the Marshfield Medical Center Emergency room by Marshfield Ambulance. Contact was made with the roommate at his residence and he was taken into custody. The complainant later admitted to stabbing himself. A probation hold was placed on the complainant and he was transported to the Wood County Jail. A request for charges will be filed with the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.

A couple reported receiving threatening text messages from a 39-year-old Marshfield male regarding issues between their children at school. The male was contacted and instructed to no longer have contact with the couple moving forward and to reach out to the school with any further concerns. The male subject stated he understood. No further involvement.
