Police Reports: Man Attempts to Use Fake $100 Bill

3.05.19 at 1220: The complainant observed a male individual in the employee parking lot behind her workplace who was looking in several different employee vehicles and pulled on one of the vehicle door handles. Police located the male nearby and he stated he was merely interested in the vehicles because he liked specific types and he had no intentions of doing anything illegal. The vehicles were checked and nothing was missing or broken. The male was verbally warned for his behavior.

3.04.19 at 1917: A traffic stop was performed at the listed location (S. Central). A search of the vehicle was conducted subsequent to the odor of marijuana emitting from within the vehicle. The vehicle search located THC in 12 individual clear plastic bags and drug paraphernalia. Ultimately a 19 year-old Marshfield male was arrested and transported to the Marshfield Police Department through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.

3.04.19 at 1715: Complainant reported that an unknown male attempted to pay for a purchase at Taco John’s using a counterfeit $100 bill. When the male was alerted to the fake currency, the male took the bill back and paid for the purchase using an authentic $100 bill. The male then left the restaurant. There are no suspects at this time.

3.04.19 at 1331: Complainant reported a 27 year-old Marshfield female took several items and attempted to leave the store without paying for those items. The female will have charges requested with the Wood County DA for Retail Theft.

2.28.19 at 0906: Walmart Loss Prevention called to report a retail theft that was occurring. The female suspect when stopped by Loss Prevention quickly emptied the stolen items out of her purse/handbag and then took off and drove away. The suspect was positively identified and will be referred to Marathon County District Attorney’s office for Retail Theft and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
