Marshfield Police Department Reports
8.7.19 at 2158: Officers were dispatched to an apartment building after it was reported that a woman was screaming for help somewhere in the building. Officers located the woman and later discovered that her and another man had been involved in a disturbance in their apartment. After investigating, the man was arrested for Disorderly Conduct- Domestic Abuse and a Probation Hold. He was booked at Marshfield PD and then transported to WOSO Jail.
8.7.19 at 1855: A 19-year-old Marshfield man was arrested for felony Bail Jumping following a traffic stop. He was booked at Marshfield PD and then transported to WOSO Jail. Charges are being requested through the Wood County DA’s office.
8.6.19 at 2019: A Marshfield woman reported to police that a man wearing only a black t-shirt was walking around her apartment complex. Officer contacted a 40-year-old Marshfield man who matched the description. The man was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping. He was transported to MMC ER for medical clearance due to his level of intoxication. He was admitted for medical treatment, and later released on his own recognizance and was advised to report to the Marshfield PD for booking procedures upon his discharge.
8.6.19 at 1830: A Marshfield man called dispatch to report being bit by a dog at a residence in Marshfield. Upon contact with the complainant, he showed officers a scratch on his right hand and 4 pierce marks on the inside of his right ankle. The man stated he went over to the dog owner’s house to talk to one of the residents there, and the dog bit his ankle. The owner of the dog was contacted and initially stated that his dog did not bite anyone, but later admitted that he did not see his dog the entire time the complainant was at the residence but did not want his dog taken away. The dog is up to date on vaccinations. Owner was provided the form to begin the quarantine process. Ordinance will follow up.
8.6.19 at 0243: On the listed date and time three individuals were observed walking on the sidewalk in the 200 block of W 5th St. The three individuals appeared to be between the ages of 12 and 16. Contact was made, and it was discovered that all three of the individuals were in violation of curfew. A 14-year-old Marshfield male was in possession of illegal items as well as an electronic smoking device that contained nicotine. A Juvenile Referral was completed for Possession of THC and the individual was cited for Possession of Tobacco. Parents of all the teens were contacted.
8.6.19: Following a traffic crash, a 39-year-old male was taken into custody for a Marshfield Warrant. He was booked at Marshfield PD and then later released after posting bond.
8.6.19: A 20-year-old Marshfield man was taken into custody on a Marathon County Warrant. The warrant had a bond amount of $250.00. The male was unable to post bond and was transported to Marathon County Jail.
8.5.19 at 2322: An employee at a hotel located in Marshfield called to report a juvenile screaming in one of the rooms. Officers arrived on scene and observed a 14-year-old Spooner male being restrained by his father. Officers separated the individuals and discovered that the teenager was upset because he was denied permission to use his phone. The child’s father requested no further law enforcement action needed to be taken after the child was counseled.
8.5.19 at 2118: A 32-year-old Stoughton female was arrested in the 300 block of W Kalsched St for an active warrant through the Marshfield PD. She was transported to Marshfield PD for booking procedures and later transported to Wood County Jail.
8.5.19 at 1615: Complainant contacted dispatch advising there was an intoxicated 50-year-old Marshfield man that she wanted removed from the residence. Dispatch confirmed the male had a valid warrant through Probation and Parole. The male was taken into custody on the probation hold and charges for Possession of THC and Drug Paraphernalia are being forwarded to the Wood County DA’s office.
8.5.19 at 1203: At the stated date and time an anonymous report came in about possible drug use at a residence in Marshfield. Contact was made and officers could smell the odor of Marijuana. A consent search was conducted at the residence and multiple items of Drug Paraphernalia and THC were located. A 38-year-old Marshfield woman was taken into custody for the offense and transported to Marshfield PD and later released. Charges will be requested through the Marathon County DA’s office.
8.5.19 at 0205: Two employees at a retirement community in Marshfield requested EMS assistance while caring for a 97-year-old male who was having difficulty breathing. Upon EMS arrival, the male was non-responsive and life saving measures were performed, but unsuccessful. The male was later pronounced deceased. Rembs Funeral Home transported the male to their facilities.
8.5.19: A Marshfield woman reported finding her husband, a 79-year-old male, unresponsive in their residence. Life saving measures were attempted, but unsuccessful. The Wood County Coroner responded to the scene and determined the man was deceased.
8.5.19: A 35-year-old homeless man was arrested at Probation and Parole for a Probation Hold. He was processed and was taken to Wood County Jail on a probation hold.
8.4.19 at 0220: While on routine patrol, officers observed a 31-year-old Marshfield male smashing glass beer bottles near the 900 block of S Central Ave. Contact was made with the male and it was learned he had two active warrants for his arrest. The male was also found to be in possession of THC, Drug Paraphernalia and prescription medication without a prescription. The male was transported to the Marshfield PD for booking and later transported to the Wood County Jail. Charges will be referred to the Wood County DA’s office.
8.3.19 at 1710: A traffic stop was conducted on a 27-year-old Stratford male on Chestnut Ave in Marshfield. K9 Steffi was requested and alerted to the odor of a controlled substance within the vehicle. Ultimately, he was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine, Drug Paraphernalia and a Probation Hold. Male was transported to Marshfield PD for booking procedures and then to Wood County Jail. Charges will be requested through the Wood County DA’s office.
8.2.19 at 1945: An Arpin woman reported a disturbance with a 32-year-old Marshfield male. Charges for Domestic Abuse-Battery and Obstructing will be referred to the Wood County DA’s office.
8.2.19 at 1743: A 28-year-old Marshfield female and a 26-year-old Baldwin male were taken into custody on valid DOC Warrants after a complainant observed them arguing outside their apartment. Through questioning the individuals admitted to injecting Methamphetamine prior to police arrival at the apartment and that there were used needles inside the residence hidden in soda cans. Both individuals were transported to Marshfield Medical Center for medical clearance and eventually to Wood County Jail on the Probation Holds.
8.2.19 at 1022 (Reported): On the listed date and time a Marshfield man contacted police in reference to an online scam. The complainant had posted an item on Craigslist for sale and an individual wished to send him money for the item. A check arrived for over the amount requested and the complainant was asked to cash the check and give the extra money to the company that was supposed to pick up said item. The check was collected and the bank on the check was contacted to be made aware of the incident. The bank indicated this was not the first fraudulent check with the information used and they were already aware of the situation.
8.2.19: A 73-year-old Spencer male turned himself in to Marshfield PD for a valid MDPD DNA Warrant. Sample was retrieved and the male was released.
8.2.19: A 32-year-old Marshfield male was taken into custody in the 600 block of S Chestnut Ave for a Department of Corrections Warrant. He was transported to Marshfield PD for booking procedures, then to Wood County Jail.
7.30.19 at 1808: Complainant called and stated there was a dog inside a vehicle at a fitness center in Marshfield. An employee of the fitness center was able to locate the owner, a 53-year-old Marshfield man, and notify him of the concern. The male caused a disturbance at the fitness center, both in the lobby and outside in the parking lot. The man was later arrested at the Marshfield PD for Disorderly Conduct and was released after booking.
