- 11.15.18 at 12:42: A 33 year-old Marshfield man was taken into custody after contacting the police department regarding a gun. Officers learned the man was inside an apartment with a firearm. Residents of the assisted living center were evacuated and the man was ultimately taken into custody without incident. The man was transported to the Marshfield Medical Center where he was seen. The man was then transported to the Wood County Jail. Charges are being requested for Felon in possession of a firearm and going armed while intoxicated, through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.
- 11.15.18 at 21:00: A nurse reported that she had a 37 year-old Milwaukee male patient in the Emergency Room with substantial facial wounds. The male stated he was involved in a physical altercation with an unknown other male. Through investigation, it was learned that the 37 year-old male provided false information and was taken into custody for obstructing. He was booked and transported to Wood County Jail.
- 11.13.18 at 8:00: A 22 year-old Marshfield male received Facebook posts from a 21 year-old Marshfield male, that he interpreted as threatening in nature. Police contacted the 21 year-old male who stated he was only trying to scare the complainant because he believe the complainant may have had knowledge of who stole money from his residence. It was relayed to him that the complainant did not have any info about the stolen money and was warned not to post any more “negative” messages about the complainant. He stated he did not wish to report the stolen money to police at this time.
- 11.13.18 at 11:16: A 42 year old Marshfield male requested officers respond to collect unknown pills he found in a former tenant’s apartment. The pills were determined to be Naproxen.
- 11.13.18 at 13:14 (reported): On 11/12, a 52 year-old Marshfield man’s vehicle was damaged by a 9 year-old throwing chunks of ice. The vehicle sustained damage to the hood. Contact was made with the 9 year-old and two other juveniles who admitted to causing the damage. The juveniles’ parents were contacted by the school.
- 11.13.18 at 20:23: A 31 year-old Marshfield man called to turn over 3 cats he stated had walked up to his patio at the same time. Also, that they had a piece of paper with them that had the cat’s names listed. After officer questioned him on the probability of this, he then admitted that another tenant had dropped off the cats as they were moving out of the apartment complex. He did not want to leave the cats out in the cold as the owner of the cats told him they would just release them outside unless he took them in. The cats were taken to MAPS for the time being. Referred to Ordinance for next day to determine the owner who abandoned the cats. The male did not know the owner’s exact name.
- 11.10.18 at 1:00, reported 11.12.18 at 16:56: Complainant reported that a cell phone was found in her backyard. Based on the contact information and text messages, the phone belongs to a 28 year-old Auburndale male. The text messages suggest that he was at a local bar and cutting through yards for a shortcut. I was able to contact a family member who advised that the male is in route to California and will return in about 10 days. Phone will be held for safekeeping and can be returned to the owner following questions regarding his actions on 11-10-18 when the phone was lost.
- 11.12.18 at 22:00: The V reported someone struck her mailbox post with a vehicle. An 18 year-old Hewitt female was located a few blocks away a short time later. The female admitted to striking the mailbox and leaving the scene as she was scared. She was arrested on PO hold. She was brought to this department while she was booked and then transported to the WOSO jail. She was issues citations for hit and run, UAL, and open intoxicants in her vehicle.
- 11.11.18 at 18:38 to 19:16: Crisis Intervention requested an officer to assist with transporting a 29 year-old Marshfield female from Norwood Health Center to Marshfield Medical Center for medical clearance. The female became uncooperative and after learning safety concerns it was determined the female was going to be place in restraints for those concerns. Booking procedures could not be completed and she was transported to the Wood County Jail. Charges of resisting and felony bail jumping with be requested through the Wood County DA’s office.
- 11.11.18 at 18:48 (reported): A 22 year-old Marshfield woman reported her boyfriend, a 21 year old male, created a disturbance and forced open the locked front door after an argument. The frame of the door was damaged. The male fled the scene prior to officer’s arrival. Around 2215 hours the male was arrested by the Clark County Sheriff’s Department and he was transported back to the department. The male was booked and released after posting bond. Charges were requested through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.
- 11.10.18 at 20:37: A traffic stop was made in the 100 block of W 7th St. K9 Steffi alerted to the presence of a controlled substance coming from the vehicle. A search located marijuana and drug paraphernalia. An 18 year-old Marshfield male was arrested, booked and released. Charges were requested through Wood County District Attorney’s Office.
- 11.10.18 at 13:30: Wal-Mart Loss Prevention reported a 52 year old Pittsville female was caught switching tags at the store, misrepresenting the price of items at checkout. The female was taken into custody for retail theft and transported to the MPD for booking procedures. She was then released. A retail theft charge will be forwarded to the Marathon County DA’s office.
- 11.10.18 at 21:25: A 31 year-old Marshfield woman contacted police in reference to a physical altercation that was occurring between her, a 27 year-old Marshfield female, and a 19 year-old Marshfield female. All three were ultimately arrested and transported to the Wood County Jail for various charges to be requested through the Wood County DA’s Office.
- 11.09.18 at 12:30: A 40 year-old Spencer male reported his teenage daughters are being verbally abused by their mother. Officer spoke with the daughters and mother about the incident. It was determined that no abuse had taken place.
- 11.08.18 at 2:49: Driver 1 stated she was backing out of a parking stall. She stated she did look before and while doing the backing maneuver but did not see the pedestrian. She stated the pedestrian was in a blind spot. The pedestrian stated all he remembers is flying up in the air.
- 11.07.18 at 07:38 (reported): A 34 year-old Marshfield man reported an attempted scam. He stated that an unknown person(s) impersonated his boss through email and convinced him to buy $500 worth of Itunes Gift Cards. The person(s) then sent him a text message, again impersonating his boss, requesting that he send a picture of the codes for the gift card. He realized that this was a scam prior to sending the gift codes. Because the gift cards are unused, he is able to get a refund.
