MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) -August 20
A traffic stop was initiated, a search was conducted after K9 Rika alerted to the presence of a controlled substance within the vehicle. During the search, a bag containing a green plant material and several items of drug paraphernalia was located. A 19-year-old Marshfield female was arrested and transported to the PD for booking procedures. She was released following booking.
A 72-year-old Marshfield man reported that his son, a 42-year-old Marshfield man, took his pickup without permission and expressed concern that he was driving intoxicated. I located the pickup parked at the above location with the man inside. The man was arrested for Operating while Intoxicated 2nd offense and Bail Jumping. He was released to a responsible adult after a blood draw was completed. A request for charges for bail jumping will be forwarded to the Wood County DA’s office.
Complainant reported two squirrels that had died in his yard that may have had puncture wounds caused by a pellet or bb. One squirrel had maggots and it was unable to be determined what caused its death. The second did have a small puncture wound consistent with a pellet or bb size. But no pellet or bb was located by the wound site. At this time report is for information in the event there are other suspicious activities in the area. No person was seen with a pellet or bb weapon. Photographs were taken of the squirrels.
During a traffic stop, a 21-year-old Wisconsin Rapids man, was arrested for a valid Wisconsin Rapids felony warrant. The man was also issued a citation for operating while suspended. He was transported to Wood County Jail.
August 21
At approximately 2201 hours Marshfield Police Officers were dispatched to the intersection of South Cedar Avenue and East 9th Street for a reported stabbing. Upon arrival, Police Officers located the victim, a 46-year-old Marshfield man, who sustained a deep laceration to his left arm. Marshfield Fire and Rescue was requested to the scene and transported the victim to the Marshfield Medical Center Emergency Room where he was treated for his injury and released. The suspect, a 32-year-old Marshfield man, was located standing outside his residence, and was taken into custody without incident. A knife was also located and placed into evidence. The suspect was transported to Wood County Jail. Charges of Mayhem, 1st degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, and Disorderly Conduct are being requested through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office. Witnesses were interviewed at the Marshfield Police Department.
Victim reported that an unknown person entered her residence without force and took an item. Victim said she has been away and it was taken during a time that she was away from her residence. A canvas was conducted and there may be video of the hallway during that time. Follow up to continue.
A 38-year-old Vesper woman reported being struck in the face by a female. Charges are being requested through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.
The complainants called the police for a child custody dispute. The male reported to police that the female was using drugs and almost tested positive on a drug test I looked at the at home drug test that the female willingly took for the male and it showed to be negative for all drugs that were tested. The female also did not appear to be under the influence of any substances at that time. The individuals were told they will have to go back to court for a more specific child custody arrangement and were told to work things out between the two of them.
Complainant reported a disturbance with a 53 year-old Marshfield female while she was in the parking lot of the above listed location. Complainant said when she returned to her vehicle there was damage to her front drivers side bumper and fender. Complainant said the female with the verbal disturbance was driving a vehicle with similar paint that was transferred onto her vehicle. Contact was made with the female and her vehicle was not involved but she explained that while walking she was struck by the complainant and that is the reason for the verbal altercation. Investigation to continue pending possible CCTV evidence.
August 23
A 42-year-old Marshfield man requested police and EMS to respond for a 35 year-old Marshfield male that was not breathing. Officers arrived on scene and assisted Marshfield Fire & Rescue.
August 24
Marshfield Medical Center staff contacted police and wished to tum over evidence they had collected from a patient. The evidence was from an incident that occurred in Ashland County. The evidence was collected, packaged, and then mailed to Ashland County Sheriffs Office per Detective Zach Peirce’s request.
Marshfield dispatch received an anonymous call that a man was seen throwing things in his yard and appeared to be upset. Contact was made at the residence with the man’s wife who stated he had left upset. The man returned while officers were still on scene and was under the influence of alcohol. Due to bond restrictions the man was taken into custody. Charges of Felony and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping and Poss. of THC and Poss. of drug paraphernalia will be referred to Wood County District Attorney’s office. The man was transported to Wood County jail.
August 26
An anonymous caller called stating a 55-year-old Marshfield male was currently at work at a local fast food restaurant and had active warrants out for his arrest. Officers arrived on scene and took the male into custody. During the search of his person and belongings, Officers located multiple bags of THC with a total weight of 45.7 grams and also located drug paraphernalia.
During a traffic stop a 53-year-old Medford male was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The male was also on probation and placed on a hold. The male was transported to the Wood County Jail. A request for charges will be forwarded to the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.
A 28-year-old man reported a leased vehicle was stolen. The renter picked it up at Art’s Body and Alignment and was suppose to return it on 08/05/21 but never did. MDPD has a suspect. Clark County was sent to the suspects residence but deputies did not observe the vehicle. Case continued. Vehicle was entered into NCIC as stolen.
An employee from McDonald’s contacted dispatch advising a 36-year-old Chili male violated his bond conditions by visiting his daughter while she was working. Contact was made with the male and a request for charges for felony bail jumping is being forwarded to the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.
A 39-year-old Marshfield man reported a 43-year-old Marshfield female was intoxicated and throwing things in his trailer. The female was arrested and brought to this department where she was booked and then released. A short time later she was again causing a disturbance at a local refueling station. The female now had suicidal ideations and was taken to MMC for medical clearance as she was going to voluntarily admit to Norwood. A request for charges will be sent to the Wood County D.A.’s office on the female for disorderly conduct. Wood County intake was also contacted and appraised of the incident.
