Marshfield Police Department Reports

12.2.2019 at 0140
The owner of an establishment on S. Central Ave. reported damage to the back glass door and door stop. He stated that the damage occurred during a physical altercation at the establishment that happened two weeks prior.

12.5.19 at 0430
The female complainant’s 35-year-old boyfriend claimed she had taken a Samsung Galaxy tablet and watch and was refusing to give them back. The woman did return the items upon request to officers and the items were then returned to the 35-year-old male. It was learned that the 35-year-old male was attempting to install apps or programs on the devices in order to spy on the woman’s texts, calls, and Facebook activity. The 35-year-old male then returned all items back to the complainant while she was at work with a note that said, “Roses are red violets are blue, no other woman is a bigger —– than you!!” A note also stated “I can’t live without you please call me, love you.” This behavior made the woman fearful for her safety as this was all occurred right after she ended their relationship. A stalking warning letter will be mailed to the 35-year-old male.

12.5.19 at 1000
A 52-year-old Marshfield man reported his identity was stolen and used to open a credit card. The man stated that the credit card was used to purchase $3347.61 worth of merchandise. Investigation to follow.

12.6.19 at 1711
A 62-year-old Marshfield woman reported receiving a package delivered to her residence which was left on the front porch and in her opinion it appeared to have been tampered with. The investigating officer inspected the package as it had not been opened by the women yet, and the officer believed that it was possible the package was tampered with; however, was unable to say for certain. A female who lives below the woman was spoken with and stated she saw the package but did not touch it.

12.6.19 at 1600
Loss-prevention reported a retail theft that occurred at Walmart. A 41-year-old Marshfield female walked out of the store with $97.46 worth of merchandise without payment. Contact with the female was attempted but not yet made. On 12-9-19, the woman was apprehended, booked, and released after posting the required bond.

12.6.19 at 1930
Loss-prevention staff reported a 15-year-old female and a 17-year-old male entered Wal-Mart, proceeded to the tobacco register aisle and selected multiple tobacco products to include packs of cigarettes, vape products, lighters and Juul’s. The male and female concealed the items on their person, proceeded to pass the last point of sale failing to pay for the items and left the store. Contact was made with the two subjects and they admitted to their involvement in the thefts.

12.9.19 at 0800
Two 17-year-old students were taken into custody after threatening writing was observed in numerous girls’ bathrooms at MHS. The writing referenced a bomb on 12/18/19. The females were transported to the Marshfield Police Department where they were booked and released. Request for Charges was completed for Terrorist Threats.

12.9.19 at 1715
A 59-year-old Marshfield woman called to report a disturbance earlier in the evening with her 74-year old husband. Subsequently the husband was taken into custody, booked, and after posting the required bond was released. A charge of Disorderly Conduct Domestic will be referred to Wood County District Attorney’s Office.

12.919 at 1914
A yellow Magna Exitor Mountain bike was found at a location on S. Hemlock Ave. The serial number was ran but no record found. The bicycle is being stored for evidence.

12.9.19 at 2100
A 53-year-old Marshfield woman reported that her 11-year-old grandchild was acting out of control and needed assistance. Upon officers arrival the child had calmed down and agreed to remain calm the rest of the night. The woman asked that a juvenile referral be sent to Wood County Human Services for Disorderly Conduct.

12.10.19 at 0800
A 51-year-old Marshfield man reported an unknown individual(s) was using his information to open a credit account. He reported someone first took his phone number so his phone didn’t work and then opened an account with Affirm. The man was able to Cricket Wireless and get his phone number reactivated and contacted Affirm to indicated he didn’t open the account. He contacted a credit bureau to report the incident. The man is not currently out any money and is not aware of who would be using his information.

12.10.19 at 1353
Information was received that a 22-year-old Marshfield male was in violation of a 72-hour no contact prohibition and was violating the terms of his court ordered bond. Upon investigation the male was taken into custody and transported to the Wood County Jail. Case was referred to the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.

12.11.19 at 1254
It was reported that on 12.8.19 a female passed a stolen check in the city of Marshfield. A 40-year-old Marshfield female is suspected.
